One of our favorite places to visit in New England is Drumlin Farm. I have been going here since I was a little kid and I love being able to take Emilie now. Drumlin Farm is both a working sustainable farm and a wildlife sanctuary. It is wonderful for animal lovers big and small. They have large birds of prey, a fox, deer, and of course farm animals, we’re big fans of the cows. Its very easy to walk around and look at the animals and the gardens, you can even walk out into the fields to see how the crops are grown! They also have a farm stand where you can purchase fruits and veggies grown right on the farm.
A few tips for your visit:
– Wear comfortable shoes for walking
– For tiny explorers you might want to go with a carrier, for toddling explorers a sturdy stroller would do. We used our UppaBaby and it was perfect.
– Check out their website for dates and times of special education events and demonstrations. When we went there was a special birds of prey exhibit.
– Use the map they give you
